The Foreign Students Association

About Phoenix:

The Foreign Students Association was organized in the year 2009 under the guidance of our former Principal Prof. Eugenie Pinto and Correspondent Rev. Bro. S. Arockia Raj. The association includes foreign students and the North-East Indian students. The foreign students association, otherwise known as Phoenix, is oriented to focus on the various issues that may rise for the foreign students who reside in Chennai, particularly in Patrician College of Arts and Science, and also to share their culture, tradition and to interact each other.

Phoenix Second Annual Cultural Show:

The Second Annual Cultural Show of the Phoenix Association was held on 20th August, 2010 and the Chief Guest of the day was Major. Karma Sonam and Guest of Honor was Captain Choegyel, Royal Bhutan Police. The college officials: Correspondent Rev. Bro.S. Arockia Raj, Principal, Vice Principal, Coordinator, Mrs.Unika (in charge of Foreign Association); and student office bearers: Sushil Rai-BCA (President), Wonchung- Bcom(CS) (Vice President), Chencho Dorji (BCA) (Secretary) Priya (VIS COM)( Treasurer) were also present.

The function started at 9 am with a photo exhibition, which shows the various cultures of the different countries of the foreign students. The events on the stage started with a prayer song by Shamrocks. This was followed by Welcome Dance by Bhutan students. The students also organized the “FOOD FEST” which showcased the delectable cuisine of the students’ home countries.

The wonderful and enjoyable program concluded with a lunch for Chief Guest and Staff in which Foreign Students showed their respect and love to the teachers of this wonderful college.
