INTRODUCTION

The Indian Civil Service serves as the backbone of India and carries great respect and responsibilities. India's best brains vie for entry into the Indian Civil Services as officers. Even though corporate jobs may offer the best of salaries and perks, a majority of youngsters and their parents still crave entry to the prestigious Indian Civil Services conducted by the UPSC. The very fact that a big share of every year's top posts in the civil services exams are bagged by professionals from various streams shows that the IAS, IPS, IFS, and IRS is still the dream job for many.

MOTIVE

In this regard, Patrician College started a separate civil services information cell in July 2011, which has been providing valuable information regarding recruitment of IAS, IPS, IFS, and IRS, and other competitive exams like TNPSC, SSC, CRPF, Banking exams and similar exams and also aiming to motivate and mould the students to prepare for these competitive exams.

OBJECTIVES

1. To make students aware of various civil services exams
2. To motivate them to prepare for competitive exams and apply for the same
3. To provide valuable recruitment information from time to time
4. To organize seminars and conferences concerning competitive exams
5. To create a common platform for sharing knowledge among civil services aspirants

INAUGURAL FUNCTION

Patrician College inaugurated the Civil Services Information cell on 29.06.2011. Mrs.Mallika IPS was the chief guest for the inaugural function. The chief guest delivered a motivational talk on why civil service is important for the student society. Correspondent, Bro.S.Arockiaraj delivered an inspirational talk on civil services examination. He also stressed on why awareness of civil services examinations is  important for college students. Principal, Dr. J.Gnana Puspham highlighted the need for more civil services servant in the society. Vice.Principal and Civil Services Cell Coordinator, Mrs. Arokiamary Geetha Rufus, pointed out the vitality of students taking civil services exam from lower strata of the society. Mr.JailapDeen complimented the wise words of the dignitaries and delivered the vote of thanks.
