OFFICE HOURS
• The College Office will function from 8.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on all working days.
• Request for certificates, testimonials and other documents requiring the Principal's signature should be addressed to the Principal and submitted to the college office.
• Certificates will not be issued without a minimum of 48 hours' prior notice
COLLEGE HOURS
FORENOON SESSION : 8.15 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.
AFTERNOON SESSION : 11.25 a.m to 1.15 p.m.
ATTENDANCE
Students will require 75% attendance to qualify for University exams.
COLLEGE ASSEMBLY
There will be college assembly periodically at 8.15 a.m. Attendance at assembly is compulsory.
DRESS CODE
All students must wear their ID cards on campus and bring the college handbook to class regularly. Girls are expected to wear modest outfits. Girls should avoid wearing sleeveless tops, mini skirts, shorts and short tops. Avoid excessive make up and jewellery.
Boys are expected to wear neat and clean clothes. T-Shirts with wordings should be avoided. No long hair, earring or wrist bands are allowed.
CELL PHONE
Students are strictly prohibited from using cellphones/ mobiles in the campus.
This a tobacco free campus and all cigarettes, narcotic substances and alcohol are strictly prohibited.
DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE
A Discipline Committee has been formed to address and solve problems of indiscipline in College. The Correspondent, Principal and the Heads of various departments comprise the Committee. A student convicted of any offence will not be permitted to continue his/her studies in college. Use of rude/ foul language will not be tolerated.
ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE
Ragging is a punishable offence as per the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Ragging act of 1997 and any student caught ragging would be punished with imprisonment if convicted. Students can bring their complaints of any harassment by other students to the above committee. A copy of the Government Rules is available in the College Office.
CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL
To enable the students to have access to career options, career guidance is provided. Placement cell also functions with a placement officer.
MENTORING
A system of mentoring is followed. Through this system, each student is under the care of staff members. The faculty incharge will coordinate with the student in addressing his/her problems. Details of the students including medical reports are maintained by the staff members. Counseling is arranged on request.
CBCS MODULE
The University of Madras has introduced Choice Based Credit System from the academic year 2008-09 . According to this system, the students are given various course options he/she can choose from. These are offered as Non-major elecltives and credits are allotted at the end of the semester (Nov/April) after the conduct of the University examinations.
Advance Tamil/Basic Tamil is introduced by systematic learning of Tamil, Soft skills is also introduced to increase the level of student's communication skills and confidence. Participation in Sports,NSS,Rotaract and other extension services is compulsory and credits are allotted.
GREEN CAMPUS
The college campus is plastic free and litter free. Any damage to college property will be dealt with severely. The cost of repairs/ replacement will be borne by the offender.
P.T.A
PTA meetings will be held every semester before and after the University exam.
The co-operation of all parent is expected in ensuring their ward’s regular attendance, performance and good behaviour.
ALUMNI
The Association is primarily for graduates who pass out of the college.
FOREIGN & NORTH EAST STUDENTS ASSOCIATION
To focus on the various issues that may rise for the foreign & North East students who reside in Chennai,counselling and help is offered. A Foreign & North East Student Coordinator liasons with the student to address his/her problems. |
